Now that the dust has settled from the Big Ten/BIG EAST Challenge, we can get a sense where the Big Ten look like now.  No surprise… Ohio State is at the top, getting a quick 5-1 start on season.

After a banner season with the Waterloo Bucks, Mike Giller has been named to the Northwoods League post-season All-Star team. 
Giller is most deserving.  He’s currently leading the NWL in hitting with a .336 batting average and also leads with 87.  He is fifth in the league in rbis with 40.

More mantle hardware for the Illini hardballers. 

Willie Argo was named to the Louisvile Slugger Freshman All-American team by Collegiate Baseball newspaper last Wednesday. 
Argo hit .355 for Illinois in 2009 with 12 homeruns and 47 rbis and 10 stolen bases.  His homerun mark was tied for second all-time for Illini freshman.

The Hoosiers were on a roll and no one was going to stop them, not even the Gophers, who were pretty hot themselves.  They won the Big Ten Tournament championship by defeating the red hot Minnesota Golden Gophers 13-2.
