Giller makes Northwoods League All-Star team

After a banner season with the Waterloo Bucks, Mike Giller has been named to the Northwoods League post-season All-Star team.

Giller is most deserving.  He’s currently leading the NWL in hitting with a .336 batting average and also leads with 87.  He is fifth in the league in rbis with 40.

To say, he’s the cog of the wheel of the Waterloo squad is being too obvious.  Aside from batting average and hits, Giller leads his team in games played (65), at-bats (259), doubles (12), slugging percentage (.429), and on-base percentage (.388).  He pretty much dominates the Bucks’ offense offensive statline.

Bucks GM Dan Corbin had nice things to say about Mike, too:

“Michael has been one of the most consistent and versatile players for Waterloo not only this season, but over the past three years.  He brings a great attitude to the ballpark with him every day and it’s great to see him rewarded for his accomplishments with this honor."

I’m looking forward to getting him back in the spring.
