This summer, Illinois baseball is installing new Field Turf at Illinois Field and the installation has now commenced! I had the day off today so I took some time to stop by Illinois Field and see how the progress is coming along.
It was very strange to walk into the park and not see any green anywhere on the field. The entire former turf has been stripped and FieldTurf is working to prep the surface for the brand new turf.
The only green I saw was the new turf which was rolled up and ready to be deployed when ready.
