Kyle Hudson seeing the ball well in Class A

Hudson in his Illinois days

Former Illini and Mattoon, Illinois native Kyle Hudson is hitting the ball well lately while playing for the Delmarva Shorebirds, a team in the Class A South Atlantic League.  For those who don’t know (like I didn’t), Delmarva is situated on the peninsula of Maryland.

Hudson, who is still playing centerfield,  is currently hitting .291 with 25 runs and 15 stolen bases with the Shorebirds.  Lately though, he’s really gotten some good wood on the ball.  In his last seven games, Hud has 13 hits in his last 27 at-bats.

He’s been featured prominently in the local paper for his role in the Shorebirds’ win on Sunday.  If you want to keep an eye on Kyle, here is his MiLB page

I always enjoyed watching Hud during his stint at Illinois.  He was an especially good photo subject when he raced along the basepaths tongue sticking out and all.

Keep it up, Hud!

Update:  Hudson made this week’s “Who’s Hot” section of South Atlantic League’s notebook for his efforts.
