Illinois baseball had a pretty rough Sunday against Michigan. In game 1, they were shut out for the third time this year, 3-0. Pete Cappetta did manage to bang out two hits in the losing cause. John Anderson does deserve some credit for his eight inning complete game where he only gave up seven hits [...]

Why is this man smiling? Because today, he got a lot of offensive support. As a result, Illinois defeated Michigan 9-2. Kevin Johnson pitched a gem Friday afternoon striking out eight Wolverine batters. It was a complete game giving the bullpen some rest. Johnson’s win today was only his second despite a nifty 3.16 ERA. [...]

Corey Kimes is the scheduled Sunday starter this weekend Illinois travels to Ann Arbor this weekend to play Michigan. One note before I go on… the Friday game has been moved up to 3:05pm because of weather. Illinois’ offense will need to find their bats as they are currently haven’t scored a run in 16 [...]

It was close for a while but Michigan’s offense caught up to Illinois pitching on Sunday and the Wolverines defeated the Illini 11-4. It was a good day to be an Illini fan today. Illinois got their revenge for Friday night’s loss by defeating Michigan 6-2. However, it started out ominously enough. Michigan’s leadoff hitter, Pat Biondi hit the second pitch of the game for a homerun and I wouldn’t blame Illini fans in the stands if they [...]

Shortstop Josh Parr ponders the scoreboard in the seventh inning Can we just forget about Friday night? Friday’s night’s game against Michigan was over pretty much before we knew it. I had to feel for anyone who came a few innings late to the game. When they walked in and saw the 15-0 lead Michigan [...]

formerlyanonymous who covers Michigan baseball for mgoblog.com, did a fair assessment of the 2010 Big Ten Baseball teams. While of course, I would like to see Illinois higher in his preview (he puts him in the second tier after Ohio State, Michigan and Minnesota), it’s pretty consistent with what I’ve seen elsewhere. And he has [...]
