Since the Illini were out of town and I still had the itch to shoot (photos, that is), I took in a few of the races of today’s Tour de C-U cycling event.
I’m not sure if I ever attended let alone photographed a cycling race, so it was a first for me.
Today was the first of two days of Tour de C-U. The race essentially wound around Champaign’s Research Park southwest of the UI campus. Tomorrow’s event will take place in downtown Urbana.
Here are just a few of the shots I took.
Update: On Sunday, I trekked on over to downtown Urbana (just a few blocks from my house, actually) and took some photos of Day 2’s action of Tour de C-U aka Urbana Grand Prix.
The course was in a figure 8 fashion set right in the heart of downtown so if one was watching at the center, you had a pretty good vantage point.
