Wikoff among THT college SS rankings

There are college baseball websites I check out and there are pro baseball websites I browse.  And unless it’s MLB draft time, never the twain shall meet. So when it was twittered (by @IlliniBaseball in case you’re wondering) that Brandon Wikoff was mentioned on one of my favorite web sites…

Bonadonna, Robinson impressing in the minors

Got a call from Illini baseball fan Sue who I haven’t seen since the last home series.  We chatted a bit on some of the summer goings-on of the Illini.  She clued me into some big news about Joe Bonadonna Bonadonna (left), who was grabbed by the Rangers in the…

Zerrusen stingy with runs in first half of summer ball

Major kudos to Lee Zerrusen on his performance in the first half of the season in the Coastal Plain League.  Pitching for the Fayetteville Swampdogs, Lee has a miniscule 0.98 ERA in 13 appearances with 7 saves.  He has 21 strikeouts in 18 1/3 innings.  To those watching during the…

Feature article on Illini Dittman and his team’s trip to Alaska

There was a great article on Matt Dittman in the Libertyville Review.  In summer league action, Ditt made the trip up to the Great North so his Lake Erie Monarchs could take on Alaska Goldpanners (summer league teams have such great nicknames, I think). Don’t think Dittman didn’t lose some…
