A few congrats are in order.  The Northwoods League just issued a few post-season awards and a few Illini were mentioned.

First, among their 2012 ‘Finest in the Field’ honorees was thirdbaseman Brandon Hohl who played for Wisconsin Rapids this summer.  His .973 fielding percentage was tops in the NWL.  Also, among the Northwoods League’s ‘Big Stick’ lineup you’ll find Illini outfielder Justin Parr.  Justin batted a nifty .370 batting average for Rochester.  That was good for third best in the NWL.

Congrats to both!

In case you missed it, Alex Lincoln was recently featured in an University of Illinois College of Engineering article about student-athletes.

“Baseball kind of gives me a sanctuary,” Lincoln said. “If I’m stuck on a problem or a homework or I’m getting flustered about on of my classes, I come here to take my mind off of it and I come back after baseball and get refreshed and plug and chug and everything kind of comes together a little bit.”
