Illini fail to take Nebraska series despite Lindauer’s efforts

I’m going to talk a bit about Illini shortstop Thomas Lindauer.

Given that on the heels of Saturday’s 18-5 loss to Nebraska, Illinois (11-9) took another one on the chin by the Huskers on Sunday 13-3, there isn’t a whole else positive to talk about.

So let’s talk a little about Tom Lindauer.  He had a pretty decent weekend all things considered.  Lindhauer has been put in the leadoff role and seems to be thriving there.  In yesterday’s loss, he went 2 for 2 (including a double) and had two walks to go with that.   For the weekend against Nebraska, he had a total of six hits and four walks. That gives him a .358 average (second on the team, currently) and a .423 on-base percentage.  Keep it up, Thomas.

By the way, I’m not the only one talking about Lindauer.  Champaign-Urbana online magazine Smile Politely has a good feature article about Reid Roper and Lindauer.  Check it out if you get a chance.
