Rohde picked up for another season with the Railcats
Looks like former Illini first baseman Mike Rohde was signed for his fifth season with the Gary Southshore RailCats. He played in all 100 games in 2011 and hit .293 with 63 rbis.
Rohde (shown right, rounding the bases after hitting a homer for the Illini in 2007) continues to play first base and is becoming a staple in the Northern League. The RailCats describe him as a “fan favorite”.
The Gary Southshore RailCats begin their season on May 17th against the Wichita Wingnuts.
