Big Ten Tourney Day 2: Purdue kicks MSU out of the Tournament 12-9
Michigan State made a good effort in the first game of Day 2 of the Big Ten Baseball Tournament but Purdue simply outscored. them.
Purdue actually scored in every inning except the seventh defeating the the Spartans 12-9. The Boilermakers had a 7-2 lead in the going into top of the fifth but Seth Williams two-run homer gave the Spartans hope and brought it close to 8-6. Purdue sealed the win with a three run ninth on Barrett Serrato’s two run double.
The Boilermakers’ Brandon Haveman went 4 for 6 with 3 rbis and 2 stolen bases. For the Spartans, Eli Boike went 3 for 5 with a solo homer.
Unfortunately, for the Spartans, this is the end of the road for them this year.
A great day for taking photos. They’re on the Photo Gallery.
