Yep, the Michigan Wolverines won the Big Ten Tournament.  The Illini can take heart in the fact that the team they lost to, Minnesota, lasted till the very end.  The Gophers were defeated in the championship game by the Wolverines. Not only that, Minnesota actually defeated Michigan in the second round to force them to the loser’s bracket.  [...]

The Big Ten tournament starts tomorrow.  Fifth-seeded Illinois will take on fourth-seeded Minnesota in the first round at 11:00am.  Illinois has the upper hand in the season series, 3-1. It seems nothing can stop Michigan this weekend.  So far, they have gone 3-0 against Iowa (including two 1-0 shutouts today!) and have clinched their 33rd Big Ten title.  In doing this, they have home-field advantage and a first-round bye.
